I retired as an air traffic controller at Luton Airport in 2007 after 40 years in the business. Always been an aviation enthusiast, particularly where old and vintage aeroplanes are involved, I became involved in Air Displays and Special Events.

Throughout May to October, I can often be found at one event or another most weekends, and sometimes in between.

Between October and April, I pursue my other flying passion, bird watching, and like to visit Titchwell Marsh and Minsmere RSPB reserves as well as my local patches. I carry a Rare Bird Alert pager but do not twitch that often.

I enjoy photography and like to take pictures of aeroplanes and birds, not always successfully.

My other interests are computers, classical music and opera, cooking, food and wine and anything else that is interesting.
